Jason’s Comments :
Let's take this opportunity of a new council to go out and do a survey of all the church members to see what they think the church's top 5 issues are and where we need to improve in order to attract more people to into the church.
We need to have a general discussion on how to make the thousands of English-speakers in Grenoble aware of the two English-speaking churches and invite them to visit us. Where can we "advertise"?
Neil’s Comments :
I would like to table the question of reinstating the family service. This has been requested by some of the members already, and this would also allow some breathing space for the
hard working Sunday school teachers.
Vision/ Mission. It had been placed in my lap so to speak, that we should really concentrate on the purpose of the Church in Grenoble. This to me is clear. The church is in a very very strategic position. That is, Grenoble pulls people from all over the world into one area. It is a centre for new thinking, learning and studying. It is one of the sports centres of France, It is also a technological centre for France, and in some aspects Europe. In short, it is at an important cross roads, where 'important' people move in and move on to other countries or back to their own country. Remember the international legal Language is English, the international science language is English, the international computing language is English, the international business language is English. It is easy to see where this is going. It is our job to make sure when its time for the 'saints' to move on, they are well feed with the pure word, lives healed emotionally, physically and most importantly spiritually, they are then ready to serve, and to go out to plant the seed elsewhere, so it may grow. Just look at where the early churches were located. The word spread rapidly out across the known world. Please look at 'the final words of Jesus and the great commission' in Matthew, Mark and in particular Acts 1:4-8 Please discuss and bring it before God.
