| Approval of last meeting's minutes & Any Matters arising
After some discussion and rephrasing of point 55 the minutes from the last meeting were accepted unanimously.
Matters Arising:
- Stephen says he will buy the bits and put together the notice board.
- Flower Festival: there were different people from last year visiting the festival also a lot less people actually came, but it was a good Flower Festival.
- Concerning point 59 “Financing Outreach Events” It was suggested we vote to accept this change of church policy as the present rule was for events to be self financing. (Vote: 10 For, 1 Against, 0 Abstentions). The church will support the men’s meal event by 70 euros. An evangelism budget will be put forward for the next financial year.
- The student worker Sally Mc Namee is settling in and has started on her program Student Hospitality Scheme, as we heard in church on Sunday.

| Treasurer's report
We are currently ahead on budget. Some money has come through the PECUSA Fund and straightened out the accounts. The council voted for the orientation of church giving (10% of all income over the year). It was agreed to continue to support Tearfund, Compassion, The Barnabas Fund, L’Echoppe and the CITA College in Burkina Faso. Details of the amounts will be found in the treasurers’ end of year report. (Vote: 11 For, 0 Against, 0 Abstentions) Council also talked of placing an advertisement in the bi-annual ALPES SUMMER/ALPES SKI magazine that is available in airports and Tourist Offices for
approx € 350/issue)/. It was agreed to ask members to look out for the next edition of "Ski News" & enquire who of their acquaintances has seen it. A decision as to whether to advertise in 2006 will be taken later.

| Comittee Reports
A short discussion took place regarding the scottish dancing evening, to take
place on Nov.12th. The organiser says that the animation is not adapted to
children under 11. Maybe a DVD/popcorn evening should be organized for them?
It was thought that probably most adults would prefer to leave their
children at home with a baby sitter. It was suggested that we might ask one or
two students to volunteer as baby sitters, if needed. The final decision was to leave parents to make their own child minding arrangements unless a demand for central care is apparent

| Future dates (including Christmas arrangements)
Organisation for christmas services was discussed. With no strong opinions expressed by anyone, the Chaplain agreed he would provide Communion on Christmas Day & it was left to him to determine how.
We also decided not to have a “christingle” service this year.
| | 67.
| Open discussion on our current Church services & how we're doing
This discussion actually took place after items 68 and 69. The general feeling
was that taking communion was a little disorganised. People didn’t know
actually how and where to queue up. At one time some people served as “ushers”,
pointing people to where they should go. We need to bring them back.
We also discussed the prayer after service, it was thought that a core of 4
people were needed to get this going.

| Proposal to share a joint weekend with Lyon Anglican Church
“To be led by George Lings (author of "Mission Shaped Church") when our 2 Church
Councils can consider how we need to develop our ministry. Weekend of 25th
March. Should we also share a united service for both Churches at the proposed
venue near Bourgoin Jaillieu?”
Claire thought the proposal was not really usefull on the grounds that most people on the current council were probably not the people who were going to be reaching out to the english speaking population. Many members of the council have been in France for a long time, and do not really have very much contact with that population. What is more, the meeting takes place almost at the time the AGM is held, renewing a part of the council. She suggested that there were people not on the council who were more likely to be interested in such a weekend, and it should be proposed to them too. This seemed a good idea to most people.
The idea of sharing a united service was rejected. Some people could attend the
service at Bourgoin, but it was thought necessary to have one in St Marc’s also.

| Any other matters
- A suggestion was made to possibly buy Christmas presents for the children of inmates from the Varces Prison Complex. David proposed to talk to a prison warden he knows about how to go about this. David Fakin from the reformed church will also be approached by Stephen.
- Norma has a program on making prayer a priority, in particular prayer ministry
at the end of the service.

| Closing Prayer
The meeting ended in prayer.
