| Approval of last meeting's minutes and any matter arising from these (& not otherwise on the agenda)
The minutes were approved. Matters arising were:
- Bookmarks: Photos have been taken of the banners. These will be used for the bookmarks.
- Prayer Team: Maureen and Joseph are taking on the organisation of the prayer team for Sundays. It was suggested for accountability that there should be prayer pairs praying for people when possible.
- Rota: The council expresses its thanks to Alison for having done it for so long. Stephen will find a way of doing it or delegating it in the future.
- CEP church. Their service will probably be at 9am. It is therefore possible to attend both services. Ideas for collaboration were: “mixed” small groups and a Sunday evening service.

| " Letter to all members re home groups, pastoral care & "job vacancies" -final draft to be approved
The following remarks were made:
- As the letter is from Stephen to the church, say “I” (not “Stephen”).
- Do not insist on people leaving, even if they are moving away, rather speak of “posts inevitably left vacant”.
- Rewrite the part about organising the rota.
- Group differents thiings under headings (gather prayer together for instance)
- Thank Marian for the music

| Welcome pack & welcome meetings
The welcome pack needs updating before being given out. The first meeting is cheduled for sept 24th under the responsibility of Marie and again after 1 month. Welcome packs need to be produced before then. A standard welcoming email will be prepared. Some council members and other people will be asked to attend the meeting to answer questions and generally make themselves known.

| Treasurer's report
Richard reported via Stephen that the finances were OK for the time being.
A dontaion of 15K$ was received from the states. A date needs to be fixed for the next “finances” presentation to the church.

| Any other matters
- Contact list: will not be continued as is. Some people were not happy about it. More emphasis will be made on small groups. Each group could have associated members assigned to it, which might encourage people to join. In encouraging people to join small groups, emphasis must be made on “what’s in it for me”.

- Walks and picnics: the first one on the Sunday follwing the meeting
- 6th August: straight picnic.
- 15th August (bank holiday) picnic and visit to Stephen and Marian's in Maurienne
- 9th Sept: mountain walk
- 30th Sept: sponsored walk in Vizille
- 1st Oct: Harvest Tearfund Sunday
- 8th Oct: Assistant Bishop David will be here for 3 confirmations
- 14th Oct: Regional ACAT event
- 15th Oct: ecumenical service
- 21st Oct: fish and bingo evening
- 11th Nov: scottish dancing evening
- 25th Nov: Banque Alimentaire
