| Any matter arising from these (& not otherwise on the agenda)
- Joseph is organising a prayer team meeting.
- Crèche: a meeting is scheduled, an organiser needs to be found. Marie indicated that she would share the responsibility.
- Adult Sunday school: a few people only to start with.
- CEP: Jon reported that there were a lot of people from Caterpillar, there are some new people. Most people live in the Grésivaudan valley.
- AWANA: Has got off to a promising start. There are about 40 children. Jon explained a few things about the principles underlying: The term means “Approved Workmen are not Ashamed”, if a problem of discipline or behaviour arises, it is solved immediately. There are groups of about 6 to 8 children. This requires quite a few teachers.

| Any matter arising from the Bishop's visit (including frequency of Holy
Communion services)
The general impression was very good. Several people appreciated Bishop David’s way of adressing the confirmees as individuals, and his talk was also appreciated. A short discussion took place as to whether we should have Holy Communion every week as the Anglican church recommends. Jon reported that at CEP Holy Communion was given every week, but that the liturgy was very simple. Should we try a simplified liturgy? It was thought not, because we might then get complaints that we are not doing things properly. It was pointed out that in one sense every first Sunday we have Communion, because we break the bread together. We decided to “keep our ears to the ground” regarding this matter.

| Howard & Dona Diehl (Howard will be invited to attend) and their roles with
our Church
Howard and Dona couldn’t attend the meeting, so Stephen gave a few informations on how they were wanting to work here. Howard is good at working with men, he is hoping to organise work place related meetings. Dona plans on a women’s ministry. She also works in publication and is willing to help with the church magazine.

| Welcome meeting & packs for 22nd October
Marie will not be present at the meeting (last minute visit to the US), but Stephen will lead it with the help of any council member who can come. Nell has agreed to oversee the refreshments. A short discussion took place on the welcome packs. The photos need changing. Elizabeth was reluctant to have her home address broadcasted in the welcome pack, and thought this brought up the problem of confidentiality. It was stressed that the welcome pack would be given to all people in church over 2 or 3 weeks, not left lying around for anyone to pick up.

| Committee reports (Evangelism, events, catering....)
- Evangelism: a meeting has taken place. A men’s supper is in preparation.
- Events: Bingo and scottish dancing evening in preparation.
| | 60.
| Future & past events
- Sponsored walk: It was a pity more people didn’t come, but those who did really enjoyed it. The children felt responsible. It was thought that another walk should be organised next year, perhaps a little further away from beginning of term.

| Any other matters (please advise the secretary in advance if possible)
- Mark gave an update on the church mission project to Burkina Faso. The project is still on, but they (Mark and Carine) are feeling not quite like faithful servants, rather disillusioned, but still pushing on. Stephen apologised for not giving enough leadership. Mark says he was not thinking about it in terms of leadership, but definitely he would like to have a little team around them to discuss things regularly, plan what needs to be accomplished and act as base camp for when Mark and Carine do leave for service. During the summer mission project in 2005, Janetta took care of organising prayer support, and now in the same way more people need to be found. Marie asked if Mark wanted to appoint the group or should the council do it? A few names were mentioned, and these people will be approached. Mark and Carine must not be left alone in this, but must feel the support of the whole church. Among the things that need doing are : Paper, Powerpoint and oral presentations, address lists, communication follow up, newsletter planning... Every council meeting will now discuss the mission project in order to assess the work being done, encourage the group forward and eventually see the project through. Prayer should accompany every stage of this project.
- Alison brought up the question of providing bibles for Tilly. This will be discussed at the next meeting.

| Closing Prayer
The meeting ended in collective prayer.
