| Howard & Dona Diehl (who have been invited to attend) and their roles with our Church
Howard shared in general about their roles. It had been suggested that their roles would be as a consultant. Howard said there was not enough hours to do everything. They are very excited about what is happening. Howard is trying to meet with the men and work on setting up small groups for accountability and bible study. Small group ministry is his focus and area of interest. He sees himself as another set of hands and feet for Stephen and Alan. They are still in the fact finding stage.
Their impression of St Marc’s is one of openness and warmth. They enjoy the church’s diversity.
Dona’s impression is Stephen is herding cats with people going in various directions. Dona has joined the social committee and is helping in her area of skill with graphics. Howard sees himself as a liaison with the 2 churches to connect in ministry and to promote each other in reaching out to the community.
Stephen asked if there was anything we could do for them and they responded that everyone has been marvellous and welcoming.

| Tilly's request for bibles for D.R. Congo
The situation in Congo was discussed and noted that due to the violent civil war, the church leaders do not have bibles. Tilly has found an organization to supply and transport the needed bibles and songbooks at a cost of 4.4k euros. The plan was agreed to give 1k euros from the church, 1k from monies Alison has for Tilly and hopefully the collection on December 3 will make up the rest.

| Treasurer's report & recommendations for our mission/charitable giving for 2006
Giving is down to 2-3k euros a month. We need a minimum of 3k for just our basic needs and 8.5k a month is what we budgeted to cover our normal monthly expenses and also our annual expenses such as our charitable giving. The Church of England pension board has increased the required payments 22% for 2007. Richard expressed the assurance that the Lord will provide and we must continue in faith.
Stephen and Richard presented the planned charity giving for 2006 As the Bishop collection was low, they decided to add to it from the Ordination/Gibraltar Fund. The council discussed the Charity Giving for 2006 and agreed with the recommendation to support the Lewis’ at 1,000 euros a month beginning in December. Also Bibles RDC were increased to 1,000 euros as a one time gift. The motion was put forward and accepted unaminously to give 14,000 euros this December.(see attached page for final distribution).
The council expressed appreciation to Richard for all his work and vision for what we do.

| What do you think are the strengths of our Church?
Howard explained the process of determining what we are about and where we are going. It begins with an appreciative inquiry :several questions asked of leadership regarding what one appreciates about the church. It is not about what is wrong with the church but the top 3 things you appreciate e.g. if you had 3 wishes come true at St Marc’s, what would you like to see happen.
It would be good to do for our church starting with the council and allows us to refocus on our strengths and not to duplicate with the Meylan new church. It allows us to get a certain demographics group different from the other church. Jon volunteered that it would be good follow up on the 40 days of purpose.
Howard said that there are 2 models of how to do church-Are you being served with a professional staff doing everything for us or secondly, each of us have gifts, and talents and the church helps us to identify and develop them for use in the kingdom.
The council was interested and pursuing this and we will begin at the next meeting.

| Mark & Carine's mission to Burkina Faso
Stephen presented that Mark was in the process of putting together his support team including Dona nad Howard and Fred and Suzanne.. He has met with Howard and Dona who have been very helpful. Dona has revised the brochure. They will need to print about 500 at about 350 euros. The church will pay for the cost. Stephen will send out a letter informing the Lewis of the church support. They will need the names and contact information of past members so they can contact them to see if they will support them in prayer and finances. They will also need to contact other Anglican churches.
