| Approval of last meeting's minutes & any matter arising from these (& not otherwise on the agenda)
- Richard raised the matter of bookmarks, these haven’t as yet been printed out.
- Richard also informed that our authorisation to issue income tax certificates has been out of date since 1999 (the declaration for the “église anglicane” “cultuelle”association needs to be sent to the prefecture again also).
- Stephen raised the problem that under French law we should probably create an “association caritative” in order to be able to give money away to charity.

| Treasurer’s Report & adoption of accounts &budget
- Richard reported that the carol service collection was rounded to 700E and donated to l’Echoppe. We have also received a donation for mission work and evangelism. We need to ask the donor if he/she agrees to use it for the second year of Mark and Carine’s mission in Burkina Fasso (the first year has been pledged already). Perhaps a second account should be opened so as not to mix the Burkina Fasso money with the normal church money.
- Val asked if money pledged by individuals would go into this new account. No. It will be paid to SIM.
- Richard passed around copies of the accounts. Various precisions were given. It was suggested that the budget items for youth & childrens' work be consolidated into lines.
- The council expressed their thanks to Richard and deemed the accounts ready for inspection.
- A discussion followed about when to present accounts to the church. Wait for the AGM or do a presentation in church, and if so when? Finally it was decided the presentation should be made on Sunday 25th March during the service, before the AGM.

| Proposal from Jim Perryman, our ICS linked council member, that our church might “twin” with his church in Kent to help strengthen the link (Jim will be our preacher on 4th March)
The council wondered what the effect of the twinning might be, (apart from opportunities of B&B for those visiting Kent !). Their church will broaden its outlook in hearing new from our church (and vice versa), they can be concerned with our projects for mission for example, we can pray for each other. This was voted unanimously.

| Update on teaching & home groups for lent
We have reached the end of the series on “gifts of the spirit”. Stephen is willing to set up a group to continue the study after lent. For lent, there are groups every day of the week, and on Tuesdays and Thursdays there are more than one group. Howard would like to find some way of getting feedback from the groups. He hopes to put the material on the website for individuals to be able to download. It would be good if the material for the coming week could be ready on Sundays for people to pick up in church. We must all pray for the studies to be helpful.

| Update on Sunday school and youth group & child protection policy
See item #90. Marie has only done the job descriptions.

| Preparation of the AGM (Annual General Meeting):
- who (within and outside the current council) will stand for: council, warden, synod ?
It is not for the current council to decide who should or should not stand for election next time, however it is useful to have some idea of who is prepared to stand next time.
- job description updates: a long discussion took place about job descriptions and whether or not it should be mandatory for all candidates for the council to sign the statement of faith. Some were in favour and some were not, arguing that our church had a wide range of people attending from different sorts of churches all around the world, and that an anglo-american evangelical-orientated statement of faith might put some worthy members of the church off. In the end, it was decided that wardens should sign the statement of faith, and council members declare their agreement with the historic creeds.
- other matters concerning the preparation of the AGM

| Mark & Carine update
A PDF file of the flyer has been prepared, and will be sent to email contacts. Already some promises have been received. Mark and Carine have been invited to speak by an english speaking church in Coutances (Normandy). It was suggested that they contact the pastorale évangélique, and also the ICG.

| Past & Future Events & Committee Reports
- Karaoke evening: in spite of comparatively few (33) participants, the evening went very well. Penny thought that it must have been hard on the catering team.
- 2nd March: Women’s day of prayer, a meeting on Saturday to prepare.
- 3rd March: women’s breakfast
- 9th March: men's supper with John Stinton speaking.
- 24th March: crafts evening
- Women’s retreat organised by ICG: probably too expensive for most of St Marc’s members. (we are not all going to ask for subsidies).

| Any other matters (please inform Stephen or Elizabeth of these in advance)
- Stephen informed that the church had been broken into, and a computer had been stolen from the catholic office.
- the problem of cleaning was brought up: can we not pay for someone to clean the petit volume from time to time?
- We should take the opportunity of the repairs to the building to rename the rooms: think of a good new name for the “red room”. Members were invited to suggest names at the next meeting.

| Closing Prayer
The meeting ended in prayer.
