Make a Joyful Noise unto the Lord!

The Psalms call for us to raise our voice and strike up our instruments to express our appreciation to God [1] [2] [3] [4] [5].

Psalm 95

1Come, let us sing to the LORD!
Let us give a joyous shout to the rock of our salvation!
2Let us come before him with thanksgiving.
Let us sing him psalms of praise.
3For the LORD is a great God,
the great King above all gods

Music is one of the central elements of our Sunday worship at St. Marc's. Our church family includes people of many different denominations and backgrounds, and people can have pretty varied expectations and taste in the kind of music they want to see in our worship. So we try to offer something to please everyone, whatever their age, nationality of church background. This can be quite a challenge at times, and our musical life is in a constant process of evolution. If you have any particular comments to make, please address them to the chaplain, Stephen Coffin, who will always be happy to discuss music with you.

If you are a musician, we would be very pleased to welcome you into one of our existing groups, or for you to create a new one, should you wish! We constantly need new offers of help from people, even if it may seem to you that we have things pretty much sewn up, and you can't see where you would fit in. The majority of our church is made up of people who move on after a few years, so in order to keep some continuity going, we need to be constantly integrating new people into our music-making.

So, we hope you may be feeling that God is calling you to participate in one of these groups. Click below if you would like to know more...
