In this service we come to share a symbolic meal with God and each other, remembering Jesus' death for us. He told us to do this when he shared his last super with his disciples. For many Christians Holy Communion is a special time of fellowship with God and other Christians.

Our Holy Communion service follows the framework of the Church of England's "Common Worship" service, order one in modern language. Within that framework we use a variety of authorised texts which are presented in a booklet which is easy to follow, so everyone can join in as much as possible. The usual structure of the service is as follows:

  1. A time of praise & worship using modern songs.
  2. Children go to their own activities.
  3. A prayer of confession and the assurance of God's forgiveness.
  4. Readings from the bible and a talk based on them.
  5. Prayer led by Church members.
  6. Exchange of greetings and sharing God's peace.
  7. Prayer over the bread and wine.
  8. Children return as we sing a worship song.
  9. Receiving communion or a blessing, during which songs are sung.
  10. Final prayer & blessing.

We invite all who love Jesus and are communicant members of their home church to share the bread & wine. Grape juice in individual cups is offered as an alternative to the shared cup of wine.
