Brochure missionnaire "How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!" Our Project
We have joined SIM mission and we are preparing to travel to Burkina Faso, West Africa in August 2007 for two years to serve Jesus Christ’s church. There we hope to teach in a bible institute in Fada N’Gourma and help the Local Evangelical Alliance (AEESIM) organise and push forward youth work. We will be sent by our home church in Grenoble, France and supported by many christians.
Our Family
Our family cell is made up of three people (almost four), Mark, Carine and Anaëlle. We love the Lord Jesus Christ and want to serve Him. We are members of the “English Speaking Church of Grenoble”.
Mark is a social worker and IT-Tech, he also studied theology at the International Bible Institute in Lamorlay, France. He has been on the church council for 3 years and is currently Church Warden.
Carine has a Masters in Psychology and followed the DEFI bible course at Champfleuri, France. She works fulltime for the family. She and is responsible for the church library and is a member of the social committee.
Anaëlle, who is 6 years old, is just finishing her “Grande Section Maternelle”. She will be joining an international school next year in the English-French section. She is involved in Sunday school.
The baby will be arriving end-of-August beginning-of-September and, judging by the last scan, is doing fine.
Our Journey towards mission
Spring 2004 We have been praying for some missionary friends and planned to visit them. We marveled at their calling and commitment.
Summer 2004 We (re)committed our lives to God with a desire to serve him full-time. We believe he brought us to think about missions.
Autumn 2004 We spoke to our Chaplain about our emerging project and contacted SIM mission society.
Spring 2005 We approached the church council with our idea and we were encouraged to participate in a SIM summer mission project to make contact with the local church and the mission outpost.
Summer 2005 We followed a missionary orientation course at Emmaus in Switzerland and then set out to Burkina Faso for the month of August. Our church family sponsored us fully in this, through prayer and generous giving.
Autumn 2005 We talked to our church about our summer missionary experience. We still felt it was the right thing for us but had some issues to think through.
Spring 2006 We met with SIM France’s mission manager and filled in the appropriate paperwork to apply for a fulltime position in Burkina Faso. On 22nd April we met with SIM France’s commission and secured our applications.
How can you help us?
SIM mission is responsible for all our administrative setup. However we will need to raise 100% support in order to carry through our project. We won’t do much without financial and practical support and we won’t do anything without prayer support.
Will you consider inviting us to speak at your church about our mission project? Will you challenge your assembly to support us however it might? Are you willing to support us?
How can we help you?
We plan to do a lot of communicating about our project and would love to talk to you about it. We believe that hearing about our mission project can get you and/or your church thinking about Christian service and possibly moving out in faith towards praying, growing and serving… even maybe supporting or sending missionaries or going yourself.
