This monthly service (on the third Sunday of each month) follows the suggestions of the Church of England's Common Worship for a "Service of the Word". It's focus is the word of God in the Bible, which is read and expounded, and to which we respond in prayer and worship. The service begins with an extended time of worship using modern songs.

The usual structure of the service is as follows:

1. Modern songs of praise & worship.
2. Children leave for their own activities.
3. More modern songs of praise & worship.
4. A prayer of confession & the assurance of God's forgiveness.
5. Readings from the bible.
6. A talk based on the bible readings.
7. A creed and a hymn or songs.
8. Prayer led by Church a member.
9. A final hymn.

The music used is mostly modern songs with one or two traditional hymns at the end.
