Current
Here are the groups that are currently set up:
- Main
This is the first place people land and should contain the majority of publicly available content.
Permissions: world read and write; church member upload; church-admin admin control
- Admin
This is were we organize the curch -- list of officers, rota, even planning, etc
Permissions: world readable; church member write and upload; church-admin admin control
- Sermons
This is where to organize the sermons.
Larry Baltz: I'm thinking maybe this should be generalized to "Pastor", but may be a good idea to have both for style control reasons.
Permissions: world readable; church member write and upload; church-admin admin control
- Home Groups
Each home group as wanted/needed can have their own section to organize study materials and discussions.
Permissions: world readable; church and group member write and upload; group member and church-admin admin control
Currently we have the following Home Groups sections:
- Profiles/Profiles
This is the place for people's individual church profiles. The names of the pages should be FirstnameLastname and the same name should be used when editing pages.
Permissions: world readable; church member write and upload; church-admin admin control
- Meta
This is the group you currently are in and is used for discussing and organizing the web site
Permissions: world read; church member write and upload; church-admin admin control
- PmWiki
This is a "build in" group of the wiki and contains stock documentation for the Pm Wiki engine
Permissions: world read (and write?); church member (write and) upload; church-admin admin control
Password
Larry Baltz: I'm thinking that we should keep the number of passwords to a minimum. The intent is to keep down vandalism and possibly restrict access to certain sensitive material (eg. music media). Here's my proposal:
- There are 2 "super admins" that have the overall site admin control. They share a password.
- There are a group of up to say 4 general site admins that have general admin control. They share a password
- Church members all share a password. This can be published on printed material, but shouldn't be available on the website. We freely exchange this by word of mouth. We change the password every 6 months or so.
- Each home group has a password. All the members of group share this password.
So all together we have 3 + N (1 + 1 + 1 + N) passwords to manage (where N is the number of home groups)
