To create a link to a site that is not part of this Wiki Wiki Web, just place the full address (URL) of the page into the text of a page, like this: http://www.pmichaud.com/toast . There's no need to put any fancy formatting or characters around the address--just type the address directly into the page text and it will be rendered as a link in the output.

If you want to create a link to another page with some alternate text, then use double square-brackets to specify the URL and the alternate text, as in [[http://www.pmichaud.com/toast Strawberry Pop-Tart Blow-Torches]]. This will still be a link to the URL address but will display with the text you provide instead of the address, as in Strawberry Pop-Tart Blow-Torches.
